Puppini Sister, EMMA SMITH and pianist JAMIE SAFIR present THE AMERICAN-ISH SONGBOOK

Join one of today’s most exciting jazz vocalists for a swinging soirée celebrating the Jewish success stories behind the beloved songs that have stood the test of time.

Emma Smith is recognised as one of the most exciting voices of her generation, spanning many genres, scenes and stages, she has performed everywhere from the O2 Arena to the Graham Norton Show to the top jazz clubs of NYC. Emma has been performing professionally from the age of 15 and she has a lot to show for it. Emma has been performing and recording with some of the biggest artists in the world, (Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Georgie Fame & Seal) and has been collecting awards in her own name along the way; the ‘London Music Awards Rising Star of 2015’ and winner of the ‘Worshipful Company of Musicians Medal of 2013’. Emma is proudly one third of the chart topping vocal harmony group ‘The Puppini Sisters‘. Her immersion in music has taken her all over the world and more recently into the broadcasting house, where she hosts a weekly show on BBC radio 3. Emma has also been featured in a four part BBC tv documentary about vocalists hosted by Gregory Porter. 

Jamie Safir is a Pianist, Keyboardist, Songwriter and Musical-Director and is in high demand across the UK and Europe and has worked with some of the finest names in jazz and pop music. His performance credits include: Will Young, Olly Murs, Rebecca Ferguson, The Brand New Heavies, Steps, Louise Redknapp, Paul Heaton (The Beautiful South), Gabrielle Aplin, Tony Hadley & Tony Christie. ​As a prominent member of the UK Jazz Scene he has worked with: Ian Shaw, Clare Teal, Judi Jackson, Claire Martin OBE, Liane Carroll, Joe Stilgoe, Iain Ballamy, Stan Sulzmann, Barb Jungr & Natalie Williams. We welcome Jamie back to the Millgate with glee.
