The ladies have been a blast to work with!

What a treat, to be involved in the production team of the opening play of our new season at Saddleworth Players! Albeit, in a different role than Millgate regulars will know me as! I’m usually found donning a black T-shirt and being the Director of SPY Theatre (Saddleworth Players Youth Theatre).

I’m also owner of Act One Theatre School in Uppermill, where we teach over 200 children a week at my beautiful studio, in dance, drama, singing and circus skills!

You may also see me helping out on the bar during panto season, oh yes you will… this beautiful theatre is so successful due to the amount of volunteers who give their time and skills so willingly to keep it going! Having been employed as a ‘Freelance Facilitator’ at Oldham Coliseum, delivering outreach directing and acting workshops to schools and community groups across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside, I appreciate the incredible need to keep local theatres alive! If you have a spare few hours a month, you won’t regret getting involved here!

When I was approached by Mike Lawlor, the Director of ‘Curtain Up!’, to choreograph ‘a couple of ‘aerobics routines’ for the play, I said yes straight away! I’m so pleased I did, as all the ladies have thrown themselves into the fun routines and been a blast to work with! Plus, I got to choose my fave ‘tunes’ from the 90s to edit into a dance track for the cast! If you are not clapping along by the end, then I’ve not done my job!
