SUMMARY:Spring & Port Wine
DESCRIPTION:by Bill Naughton\nSpring and Port Wine’s theme is a family living in 1965 and their values, which may now seem old fashioned. Rafe Crompton is a self-made man who has known great hardship in his youth, so he is determined that his children should be brought up in an atmosphere of truth and self-reliance. He is essentially not a stern man, but such is the unswerving quality of his own integrity that he has lost sight of the maxim that love must encompass understanding as well as caring. There is talk of depression and hunger marches, things that can’t happen again! or can they? Think of food banks and are we just coming out of recession? The play will, I hope, make you smile a little and perhaps shed a tear, who knows? Those of you old enough may experience some nostalgic moments. The younger ones may wonder what “six pounds seventeen and ninepence-ha’penny” is! I hope you enjoy the show as much as  this talented cast have enjoyed rehearsing and performing it.Rod Fitton\nSponsored by Tanner Business Centre\nCast & Crew\nCastDaisy Crompton……………………………………………Edwina RigbyFlorence Crompton …………………………………………….Jo HoughBetsy Jane …………………………………………………….Helena TinkerWilfred Crompton ………………………………Cameron KennedyHarold Crompton …………………………………………….Andy HoyleHilda Crompton ………………………………………Esther WeetmanRafe Crompton ……………………………………………….Vince KennyArthur ……………………………………………………………James McKean\nStageDirector …………………………………………………………………Rod FittonSet design ………………………..Rod Fitton, Ken Wright, Keith BegleySet construction …………………………… Keith Begley, Jan Wieringa,……………………………………………………………………………..Verity MannStage manager ……………………………………………………..Brian HiltonLighting & sound ……………………………………………………Luke SettleCostume ………………………………………….Theatre Wardrobe & CastProps …………………………………………………..Andrew & Verity MannPrompt ……………………………………..Sarah Learmont, John Hankin\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
