DESCRIPTION:by Eduado de Fillippo\nIn the balmy heat of late ‘40s Naples, Filumena Marturano lies on her deathbed waiting to marry Domenico Sonriano, the man who has kept her as his mistress for 25 years. But no sooner has the priest completed the ceremony, than Filumena makes a miraculous recovery.\nAs he reels with the shock Domenico discovers that this brilliant, iron-willed woman has a few more surprises for him. This is the first time I have directed a play at Saddleworth Players and I would like to take this opprtunity to say what a thoroughly enjoyable experience it has been. The people involved in creating this production are just delightful and it has been a pleasure to feel part of a true group effort. At every turn I have met with commitment and enthusiasm from those responsible for the management of the theatre, from all cast members and the entire backstage crew. I do hope you, the audience, enjoy this play.
