Delph Library is run as a partnership between Oldham Libraries, Delph Community Association (DCA) and Millgate Arts Centre (MAC).

The library is staffed by volunteers, and a Senior Library Assistant is available for advice and support

Opening Hours

The library is currently open for fifteen hours a week: on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 2-5pm and Friday and Saturday mornings10-1pm

What’s on at Delph Library

Come and browse our books or order anything online using your Oldham library card and collect from Delph.

Remember to check out Borrowbox to access newspapers, magazines and audio books.

We sell good quality second-hand books. Pop in to get a bargain- all 50p or hardbacks £1.

We have also recently bought a thermal label printer so pop in to use that for parcels etc.

We have two public computers and a printer/photocopier( small charges for printing).

We have two free weekly groups- knitting and crotchet group is 11:30 on a Friday- free and all abilities welcome, even complete beginners.

We now have a community jigsaw on the go as well as Scrabble.

We recently welcomed the year 6 class from Delph Primary for a visit.

Despite it being a very hot day, they were all model students and had a good time. Well done Delph Primary!

They enjoyed a scavenger hunt and did some great book research.

They especially enjoyed the old pictures of Saddleworth.

We hope to see them all again; to pick some books for themselves, come to a holiday craft session, maybe to do some homework( an A4 page a week can be printed for free) or later on as D of E volunteers!

Warm or Cool Space at Delph Library

The library is now offering a warm or cool space to anyone who needs to keep warm or cool, during our opening hours. They can come in and sit inside and have a hot or cold drink. If they want any local advice or other help, they will be guided to the appropriate agency. Local council information is available e.g. planning matters and transport.
