Agogo String Quartet

Agogo String Quartet

The Agogo Quartet is an emerging string quartet based in Manchester, comprising musicians who studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Since its formation the Agogo Quartet has achieved considerable success and the reputation of a group to hear. As Artists-in-Residence at the Barrow Classical Music Foundation, they have regularly given recitals at St. Mary’s Church, Barrow-in-Furness. They have also been closely involved with the Furness Festival Strings since the ensemble was founded in 2025, leading projects and performing regularly as part of Barrow Classical Music Foundation’s concert series. Agogo performed in the Lake District Music’s Spring Series in February 2026, performing works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Haydn and Prokofiev as well as an original composition ‘Windchimes’ by Agogo’s own violinist, Sam Kane. Agogo then returned to the Lakes for the Lake District Music Summer Festival 2026 as the ambassador Quartet, performing in Ambleside and Kendal, including a concert leading the Emerging Artists ensemble.
