“I Know what I like” – an entertaining evening of wine tasting

Join us on October 30th for our first ever Millgate Arts Centre Wine Tasting.
Your host will be Simon Woods, Director of Manchester Wine School, former columnist on the Financial Times, five-times editor of the Which? Wine Guide and author of several books, including the award-winning “I Don’t Know Much About Wine But I Know What I Like” – and he lives in Dobcross!
Simon will guide you through a tasting of six great wines chosen with Christmas in mind (all available from Garratt’s in Uppermill), and will be on hand to answer all those wine questions that have always bugged you – why do wine tasters do all that sniffing and slurping? Do the French really keep all the good bottles for themselves? What’s the difference between a £10 wine and a £100 one? And so on…
There’ll be a wine-themed quiz with prizes – no expert knowledge required.There’ll also be some great cheese from Tromancer the cheesemonger in Uppermill High Street.
Not only will it be a great evening, but you’ll be raising funds to help the Millgate Arts Centre – see you there, with glass in hand!
