While this play is set in the late 1970s, it covers ethical issues that are equally relevant in today’s society. The play examines the moral and legal aspects of the situation and the reactions of the hospital staff; but most of all, its central character, the sculptor Ken Harrison, offers us a remarkably positive, sometimes humorous, but always passionate portrayal of a very articulate, clever and strong-minded man.
