Absurd Person Singular is set in three kitchens over three Christmases: Sidney Hopcroft, an ambitious tradesman, and his submissive wife Jane; architect and adulterer Geoffrey Jackson and his depressed wife, Eva; Ronald Brewster-Wright, a banker, and his alcoholic wife Marion. The play charts the relentless rise of the socially aspiring Hopcrofts at the expense of the two other couples.
Will the Hopcrofts impress their influential Christmas guests?
Will depressed Eva hold on to her womanising husband Geoffrey?
Will banker Ronald ever realise that his wife Marion is an alcoholic?
