Call-out for charities to support

Last night we raised £1000 for Saddleworth Churches in Uppermill and Greenfield with a charity evening for Singers not Sinners, attending a sell out performance.

The Millgate Arts centre is a creative hub in beautiful surroundings.  We feel lucky to have this wonderful facility in the heart of Saddleworth and  to be able to support the performing arts and community theatre. 

We also like to give back and have been supporting local charities for numerous years.

Saddleworth Players are now looking for charities to support for our next season of plays.

There are five Saddleworth Players plays in the season which stretches from September to June. The Sunday performance of the seven night run is the charity performance. Half the house (80 tickets) are given to one charity or, if charities partner up, two charities. With the exception of half the licence fee ( usually about £40), the charity takes all the proceeds from the tickets sold. If the standard £10 is used and all the allocated tickets are sold then the charity takes £800. Add to that a possible £400 if a £5 supper is put on and the proceeds of a raffle then a considerable total can be reached. 

We’ve been raising on average £5000 a year for charities, and now want to ask charities to nominate themselves.

On Sunday June 12th we will be launching our new 2022-2023 season of plays. It is an evening of enjoyment and a chance to meet up with members.

It is also a chance to choose a play for your charity and discuss what might be possible to promote it.

Join us from 6.00pm for a tour around the theatre followed by a presentation and buffet. Tickets are free but you’ll need to book via the website or box office as capacity is limited to 160 seats.
