The Millgate Arts Centre is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers who are all about putting on great shows and keeping this community arts hub thriving for years to come.
Whether it’s plays, films, concerts or musicals our talented bunch keep putting together entertaining seasons – and having fun and cementing friendships in the process.
We’re looking to recruit and train a volunteer as part of the management team who can expand the use of the theatre by coordinating external bookings.
Both the theatre and bar area are available to hire out but we’re always so busy putting on our own shows we haven’t the time to manage this without the help of a dedicated person who can bring their own bit of theatre magic to the role.
There’s a full-on job description but essentially we need someone to be the first port of call for enquiries, coordinating requirements with key people in the Millgate ie. front of house, bar, set, technical (sound and lighting) cleaning etc and following through to the event. It may involve showing people around – if they’ve not booked with us before- and sharing our price list.
At the moment we have around 10 external bookings a year – but this could well be expanded if the demand is there – it would be great to be able to invite new audiences to our lovely theatre.
